Origin of the Term: Autism Spectrum of Being™

Autism Spectrum of Being™ is a term I created in 2025 to describe a reframing of autism — not as a disorder or a linear spectrum, but as a complete and valid way of being.

It recognises that autism is not something we have — it’s something we are. Rather than imagining autism as a range from “less” to “more,” this perspective understands it as a diverse constellation of traits, sensitivities, patterns, and perceptions that form an entire inner ecology.

This framework acknowledges that many autistic people, especially those who were diagnosed late, have spent years masking, mimicking, or feeling out of sync with the world around them — not because they were broken, but because they were expected to perform a version of life that wasn’t built for them.

Autism Spectrum of Being is about returning to the self — not through cure or correction, but through recognition, release, and reconnection.

Why I’m Stating This Publicly

I’m writing this not to centre myself, but to protect the meaning behind Autism Spectrum of Being™.
When I searched for the phrase on Google, I found it was already being defined by AI — with no connection to where it came from or what it was meant to express.
I didn’t create this term for it to be diluted or reinterpreted by systems that don’t understand lived experience.
This page exists so that the origin is clear — and the meaning stays intact.
